Cycling
There are a number of cycling routes from Wellington, described in detail with maps on the website of Wellington Local Agenda 21.
For example, the Tern Valley Trail is a 14-mile, circular cycle route on quiet country roads, traffic-free paths and existing sections of the National Cycle Network. The trail begins and ends in the market town of Wellington and takes in a number of historic villages en route. The route goes from Wellington through Wrockwardine, Tiddicross, Charlton Castle, Walcot, Withington, Rodington, Isombridge, Longdon and Admaston Spa.
All Around The Wrekin is an 11-mile circular cycle tour that does just that, connecting the famous hill to the nearby market town of Wellington. The trail interconnects with two National Cycle Network (NCN) routes along its course and contains several challenging gradients. The route is Wellington – Wrockwardine – Burcotgate – Little Wenlock – The Hillfort – Myths & Legends – Royal Forest – The Ercall.
Along The Moors is a 21-mile circular cycle tour connecting Wellington to the Weald Moors, east Shropshire’s largest wetland area. The route has been designed in such a way that it can be divided into a shorter or longer tour of the locality.
