Lavender Terrace

The lavender terrace beside Platform 1, next to the slope up from the car park, was first established in 2018, before the group (FOWS, Friends of Wellington Station) was constituted. Some volunteers put in some heroic work clearing the patch of all kinds of rubble, put down a layer of small slates and planted lavender. Over the years the terrace has been weeded, replenished and generally taken care of, and it draws many compliments from station users walking past on their way in and out of the station.

Recently (December 2025) The Friends were fortunate to have some funding from the Wrekin Housing Group to replace some of the lavender bushes, and put in a fresh layer of slates. We are hoping to see the terrace looking bloomin’ lovely in Spring 2026!
